Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hi Guys,

I have been a member for a while and while I am not a collector I pop in from time to time to research things that I come across. I am more of a tool collector/trader/seller but often there are old knives in the old tool boxes I get. Where I am no expert on such things I typically keep them, hand them out to my grown kids, or sometime post them for sale. Where I have no real expertise it is hard for me to come up with an asking price most times so I just post them on eBay and see where they go.

That said, I come across automatics/button knives on occasion and sales on eBay are prohibited. I try to hunt the web looking for values but have very limited luck. I have sold a couple but never know if my prices are far off or not. I dont mind giving a good price, makes me feel good when I know I gave a good deal, but I hate thinking in the back of my head that I cut myself too short lol.

Anyway I guess I am asking if there is some type of pricing guidelines for collectible knives out there or a certain website that would be of help to me. Any suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks  Cliff

Thanks for posting this Cliff. Lets see what people say. I know people use guides that are published that might show knives and values. Sometimes the issue is finding the exact knife you have in a book. Sometimes if you have a particular knife you may find something  on the internet. I know in the past we have recommended various websites for specific types of knives.

You know I will add one thing.... I sure wish I had a Levines Guide!
