The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Looking for your all time favorite group? Where did it go? Well its still there but you will have to click on the groups tab at the top of the page and search to find it.
So here are the rules. Would you like your group to be "Featured on Our Main Page? On;y 10 groups will be displayed! Will your group appear in the Top 10? It takes activity.
It will take some work, some dedication, but then again....on;y the best Groups get to Main Street!
I personally like this idea. Bring up your group, stay active in it. Also it will help folks to "see" the blogs and forums more. Good work
Its a great way for Group Creators to really build their respective group. With so much going on at iKC a collector can get into so many topics. If a Group Creator is on a mission, he/she will need to capture reader attention, and this is a great way to get noticed for that effort.

Well, we shall see. Sometimes a little bit of the wrong thing will stop up a big drain.
Dale, collectively(pardon my pun) working together we can make iKC the place to be for a true knife collector!

Actually Rick just the opposite, it will be great incentive for a new member to jump in on active discussion, in an active group. if a member wants to know what is "hot" across all of iKC , blogs or pics or discussion or groups...the place to check is Leaderboards a daily compiled list of smoking hot content!

Sorry team think this isnt the best idea for us means new members and old will have to root and look for said subject make it a notice board whats hot and whats not kinda thing !!!!,to engage members when they 1st sign in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a great point Pat, all Groups are there but you will have to click on the tab at the top that say GROUPS. it will display a list of all groups and you can page through to find your group or enter the group name under search. It will be a few more steps but if you have a great group, we hope its worthwhile!

I'm afraid this might make groups even more inactive. Users want easy (or easier) access. I think it was easier when more groups were posted on the main page and not just 10... they were a bit easier to find. This could also confuse a lot of members. They may think that their group is gone when it isn't, thus making it more inactive than it was before. Then, we'd be back to square one, wouldn't we?
I am sure that Steve has the overall good of our club at heart and is trying to improve things. This new Group management may work better than we realize so we should all get behind Steve and try to get it going the best we can. Lets not knock it till we've tried it.
Robert what you say is true, and I thank you. Its just a way to recognize those groups who work so hard to inform members. They deserve to be on our Main Page. Lets face it, with so much to see and do on iKC, with new pictures, new blogs, new discussions and the new chat, THERE IS A LOT TO DO! LOL No we have not quite achieved video game status but there is a lot here and I do encourage both old and new members to enjoy all we have to offer.

yup I like it as well
No problems with it down south. Looks like an attempt to streamline the main page a bit and make it more user friendly.
Yep, Steve can see the big picture better than we can. I'm sure if he thinks it's a good move for the club, then it probably is. We certainly can't complain about his tech. decissions so far. GO, IKC!
