Someone I know studied classic languages. He translated the one picture for me:

Knife making place (hard to translate....but the dutch word he used was like "Knife Makery")
Work by Aiomos Koutsaniyis Greece 1913
In Piraia, 6th of april

He said it's "purified" Greek. Which would make it difficult to read even for anyone schooled in "Modern" Greek.

well thankyou for asking your friend. and tell him thankyou for translating a little. i guess i'll just have to look for someone that can talk purified greek so they can give me the whole translation..problem is finding someone haha

Alexander,

WOW.  well we have a lot of the pieces now.  Maybe someone speaking a dead language can finish it up for us

Matt
I was able to read most of the words, but to be certain I will need to look at
the knife from closeby. The phrases make a short poem of the short, that people
from Crete ( Greece), are famous about. The poem rhymes and its meaning is
moving (many of the words are also grossly misspelled, which speaks for the
spontaneity and poetic inclination of the knife-maker himself). My translation
is in prose:
I had this ordered
and I bear it wisely
wishing none of my friends
ever comes in need of it.

I am dying.....???... from sorrow (??)
I am getting down to Hades
in terrible judgement (???)
waiting for you (??)

By : Knife-maker Alekos Koutsanelos (?) year 1913, at Peireas, April 6.
It is an item many Cretans are carrying proudly even today.
