Besides cooking, my hobby is other peoples hobbies! Being that I have been making display & drawer cases for collectors for some years now, and writing HOW-TO articles for collectors, I have gotten into studying collectors.

Any of you use desiccants to protect your collections? If so, where do you live, (how humid?) and in what what do you keep your knives? (I make drawer cases for all manner of collectors -and lots of knife collectors- and wonder if I ought to help them worry about corrosion.)

What a nice bunch of GOB's you'll are! Many Welcomes! Feel right to home.

So much so, that I have to ask a question. Years ago someone told me that

when you sharpen a good knife, you are not only grinding away the bits

you don't want, but you are also 'smearing' just a few molecules up to

the very edge where they kind'a re-attach and make for extra sharp edge.
