Hi.Finding a sheath to carry my 6375 on my belt has been a challenge. For me, a sheath has to have a belt loop. I did not like any of the Case sheaths I saw when I visited the Case Store in Bradford. So, I took a chance on a Bullard Sheath ("The Duke"). It had to travel from Texas through Sault Ste Marie, MI to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario to get to me in Kitchener, Ontario. (Bullard doesn't ship to Canada.)The leather for this sheath is thick and very stiff on arrival. I broke it in using the…See More
My GEC #44 Northfield Buffalo Jack Cocobolo is in transit and greatly anticipated. It could not be shipped directly to me in Canada because of the Cocobolo. So, it was (safely) brought into Canada at Sault Ste Marie by a friend. Whew!
Hi.The current auction has a C Risner Indian Head Stockman on offer. That led me to look the one I have in my collection and led me to a discovery. My stockman has a matchstrike long pull on the main blade and the secondary blades have matchstrike nail nicks. The knife on auction and every other photo I seen so far on the internet does not have matchstrikes. Also, I can't find any postings that discuss the pull and nail nicks for this knife.I'm hoping a German Eye expert has some info for me…See More
"Thank you, Doug, that's kind of you to help me.
I have 16 Schrades and 2 Schrade made Buck 301s. I have all the research I need for the others - the searching and sorting the silly from the useful has been great fun.
My 1st Schrade purchase was…"
"I just read through Codgers history of the 7OT and found no mention of an oiled sheath. I'll see if I can get a old of him later today and see if he remembers any mention of an oiled sheath. Is this the only Schrade you are researching?"
"Thank you for your reply.
Not really. I'm trying to complete the story for that version of the 7-OT. I bought it online from the well-known auction site in 2013.
I believe I recall Codger mentioning the factory oiled sheath but I cannot…"
I need a little help. Among my Schrade keepers I have a 75th Anniversary 7-OT. There's no evidence that it has ever been used, abused, or carried. At some point the 7-OT was stored in its sheath but the sheath has not been worn on a belt. The curious thing is that the sheath is oiled. I was positive I read somewhere that the first few of these knives went out with the sheath already oiled at the factory. However, I cannot find any post about that online despite considerable google mining. If you…See More
