Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

The time has come to start the discussion on the 2014 iKC knife.

I would again like to shoot for August/Sept delivery date.  Something to remember while we talk about this is that a short run of only 50 or so knives means we need to tie in with a maker that is already running a knife and tweak that one to make it our own.  The reason for this is most SFO's require a minimum order of 250 or more.  Also I would like to keep it less than $125.00 delivered to you.  I have some eyes checking out whats available at a factory or two but always love to hear your ideas.  Remember, this is YOUR knife

Here is a pic of the official annual knives we have done so far

Alex,

Originally I had thought of the Bone Collector. But, when I went to the Benchmade site to figure the costing, the Bone Collector was not found. Without checking, I think they may discontinue that line.

I was checking again now and they are also have a custom configurator for the Barrage.

hey brad! good to see ya!.. i have not on the current 2014 but here on IKC and a few other clubs have reccomend the vey same knife or the FULL GRIPPIE.. when we were discussing past knives. you can even go to the websiite and build the knife you want.. and they will even add etching to the blade and so forth..  i would 100% be ok with that.. and have been.. im glad u brought it up.

im always surprised that i dont here about CASE that often myself as well... since their site offers the same abilities.. CASE even has it set up to buy larger quantities right on the site... just a last moment thought...

but back to BENCHMADE..the GRIP is probably one of the best all around built knives. i have owned a few grippies and i have not one complaint! so again i would IMO be fine with this option.   i actually like the AXIS lock. and i prefer the full grip but i do have some large mits!...LOL!

Offcourse you don't hear it about Case...I know they're historical and all....but everything I've seen about them (and from them) pretty much says that they have worse build quality than Rough Rider lately. People who've collected Case for decades are dropping them left and right and vowing to only collect vintage Case knives.

Case would not interest me unless it was a Case/Bose knife for <$150 and we all know THAT isn't going to happen since the last Case/Bose knife was closer to $500.

I'd be in for a "tactical" but not a griptillian. I don't like the FRN handle. A Bone Hunter however would interest me greatly especially the small one.

Tops makes a nice looking 154CM fixed blade (Pasayten Lite Traveler [P001]) - 5" blade/MIcarta handles - that Amazon is selling for $135. (close to budget), but don't know if TOPS will do SFOs, or if they will give iKC a price close to the Amazon price - it sells on the TOPS site for $179. [BladeHQ = $124.95, Discount Cutlery = $118.14]

I'd like my first club knife to be a pocket knife, the stockman idea has some backing it seems and I want a knife to carry more than display. This Beretta looks awesome and it is in the price range. $115.00

I am reviewing the Benchmade knife right now and will soon put up a written review. Sorry it's taking so long but we are doing a collaboration review between two of us. I will say at this time though, it's a fine knife.

hey went ahead and did some homework with CANAL ST and talked with mike about club knives and how they handle them. they have no probleems with any number from 50-1000.

turn around time is about  approx 8 weeks from the time an initial 40% deposit is required. of course the rest is due when the knives are done. CANAL ST wold love to do it though!

one thing the CANNITLER is off the table for club knives.  anyway this is from CSC directly.

hope i helped....

Always my friend and glad to see a few divergent ideas!

Brad I'd love another Benchmade as well. But not an assisted one. Too many potential legal problems with that one.

I'd maybe got for a Canal Street Single blade. Shame abou the Canittler though. I've been looking at that one for ages.

I love this annual discussion.  The fact that we all become involved in helping is just awesome

I think a mother of pearl handle would be great on whatever pattern, Stockman ?......

hey Ricky! i can always go for some MOP... but it will driove the soct up{i dont really care}.. but the stockman pattern if ididnt have like a QUATRILLION!-LOL- stockman knives i guess i would be ok..but they are everywhere and all over the palce..imlooking atone laying right n front of me now!!...lolol.. so for a CLUB knife io woud love MOP,GLP,BLP,PLP any of them!

I started collecting because I liked the stockman. I have drifted here and yon, but I'm voting for a stockman with a clip, sheepfoot, and spay blades. Ya'll pick the size.

http://queencutlery.com/034221_Jr_Scout.html  would be a great club knife, and.. in production. :)
