We're originally from eastern NC - around Tarboro. I don't hunt anymore but still have my old skinning knife. However, as far as my choice of rifle it was a Remington .270 bolt action... My philosophy on my choice was that a true scope, and faster to the target round couldn't be beat. It proved a good one for me at least.

there's not much to add to what probably already know- the knives were near identical accept the old timer had a key type assembly and Colonial Old Cutler used the standard stacking of components then driving a nickel silver pin into the bolsters-
