Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Tobias suggested that someone should start a discussion on 5 inch lockback hunters.  Since no one else has, I will.  But since I have two folding hunters and only one of them is a lockback, I will open it up to all 5 inch folding hunters.

Here is my first.  It is a Rough Rider Once In A Blue Moon 5 inch lockback with one blade.

My other one is a Rough Rider Rifleman Series folding hunter.  It is two blades and is not a lockback.

Well this one has a locking blade but it isn't a lock-back so to speak.  And it also isn't five inches long.   However, it is a folding hunter.

Marbles calls it a Safety Folder

Despite the lanyard hole, the knife is quite comfortable to hold when the blade is locked and ready for use!

Handle material is stag and white smooth bone with black comp and nickel-silver channel inlay.  Brass pins and ringed nickel-silver bolasters.  Blade is 440A Stainless Steel.  Fit and Finish and over all build is excellent!

A closer look at the scrimshaw scene.  Pointer vs. Bear!  Note the brass pins and liners.

great addition of your Kershaw rake jeff, thanks for sharing!

unfortanately, i no longer have the Schrade tho,I do hace a few hunters and a couple of hunters with no lock. the scharade actually { to me } felt better than the buck 110. the buck does feel very nice in hand tho. i bought a kershaw rake the other day that feels nice, but time will tell about blade technology,[ the steels that are used... in the way that they are used].alresdy had this picture.. will take mare when able. love the buffalo btw.kershaw rake.. special blade.

grrrreat bunch of BIG folders brian.  love that united boker jaguar!  super blade etch and pretty red bone.  likewise, I am also into United Bokers myself.  They made some real knice knives.

Man o man, Marbles, Kabar, Schrade, Boker, Kershaw and them Large Clasp's impressive for sure! Charles lit a fire under some with this discussion! Guess a lot of us have Large Knives! Them Bokers look good with them bolsters!

Carried this one for a real short time, but it was a gift a long time age and didn't want to wear off the etchin!

Nice Max!  I like that nautical scene.

awesome knife and grrrreat looking etch max

Beautiful Max for sure!!

I agree with you Max, this seems to be a very hot pattern topic. Quite surprising how many large knives are collected and used!

Okay a farily common five inch lockback, this time by Klein Tools.  I've mistakenly said this was made in the USA but it is actually made in Japan.  I figure its about 30 years old.  It features hard wood handles and brass bolsters.

Nuthin' special, just my two stock Buck 110's, (90's), one with stock sheath, the other with a custom sheath my late brother made. Just your regular 'ol 110's, tight, sharp, walkin' & talkin' like they should. I carry them both at least a couple of times a year, the rest of the time they live on my "knife stump" on display in my home. I have a Frost 5" in red bone with scrolled bolsters, but I don't have a good photo of that one, I'll try to get a photo tomorrow and post it here later. That accounts for all of my 5" folding hunters, they will eventually be handed down to my grandson.

Nice ones Syd!
