There are some really great Marttiini knives out there.  Good score, Ms Data!

Here's my favorite -- the Raven (not sure if it's available stateside yet; my wife bought it for me direct from Finland, & the shipping nearly doubled the cost of the knife -- my wife's totally awesome!).

Ms Data!

That is just stunning.  I might be tempted to oil it but I dont think I could myself to stain it.  BTW what steel is it and is it coated?

Hi Ms Data,

Nice knife from a good company.. I've had several of the Marttiinis in the past. Nice and light with very sharp blades.. Now too pricey but good stuff..

Very Nice! I only have one Scandinavian knife (sadly with a plastic handle) I've often wondered how durable the birch is in hard use given that it's a relatively soft wood ... but it must be fine as they have been made that way for so long. And Scandinavia can throw up some testing environments.

Wow! Color me shocked! I thought it was olive. Duh! I seem to be wrong a lot lately...about a lot of stuff! Oh, well...'.regardless of what they call it...it's still beautiful! I can't go wrong with that...can I? lol

It does look like Olive doesn't it? They are calling it curly birch though. It is very pretty in person. Better than the picture looks. I almost want to stain it.

Do I spy an olive wood handle on that beauty, Data? I love anything with olive wood! That's a gorgeous combination of knife and sheath!
