Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I picked up a mess of knives awhile back for next to nothing.  I think I may have had $0.25-$0.35 per knife invested in the lot.  In it was a Colonial Barlow with a broken scale.  I didn't feel like gluing it back together, so I did this, instead...

Gone are the steel sides and shell handles.  It now sports brass liners, brass bolsters, and green jigged bone with brass pins.  It's not perfect, but it has become my go to knife on a daily basis.  I think the green and brass go together well.  I didn't want to polish the blades to like new sheen by removing all the tarnish...I think it gives the knife character.

Oh, and it's very, very solid.

That looks good Jon - I agree the green and brass go well together. I would not normally have picked green but they definitely go well

Nice job.

KNIFE RESCUE!

and a good job of it I might add.  I almost never pick green either which is rather strange since it is one of my favorite colors.  Then something like this comes along and I think, wow I like it green!

Thank you.  Green isn't the color I set out for first, until I saw the scales pop up on the screen.  That's when I decided on brass bolsters...the two colors just seem to go together.  Now I'm thinking of doing a few more knives in this color combination.

looks great!
