Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

A few of us have been clamoring about knifes that we would like to see. Johnny Two Shoes would like a peanut and a traditional whittler. I would like a scout/utility knife and a traditional whittler. What would you folks like GEC to make next? I'd like one of those spiral cut Red Buffalo Horn Whalers too while we are wishing for things (but that is an existing pattern). I was looking at some of the camp/scout/utility knives that I already have by Camillus, Ulster, Utica, Western (see my photos if interested) and it would seem to me that GEC could make one like these fairly easily (yeah it's easy for me to say) out of their current #53/#54 frame. It might be hard to incorporate the corkscrew that I wanted in our "Gone Camping" discussion in this frame but those folks at GEC work wonders! I have an older Boker Camp knife (see my pics) that has all of the bells and whistles but it doesn't really match any existing patterns and is a beast of it's own.

So what do you all think? I'd be interested in suggestions of new knives and also the scales that you'd like to see on them.

I like the doctors knife also and I think the spatula gives it a more traditional look.  I often wondered though, in a modern world what uses do you find for that spatula?

I often use the spatula for scraping surfaces that might be damaged by a sharp blade. For pipe smokers, the baby doc makes an awesome pipe knife, using the flat end as a tamper. When contents are precious and packaging suspect, the spatula is usually adequate to slice through packaging tape without cutting anything else. Of course it is a perfect spreader for peanut butter, etc... The spatula becomes an extension of your finger, smaller and more precise, allowing you to see what you are doing. Since it is dull, kids are not afraid of it, in case you need to clean debris from a cut... Never have used it for counting pills, but in older pharmacies you will see them using similar tools. I've also used mine as a steel finger nail to open stubborn blades on other knives.

Like any tool, if you carry it, you will find opportunities to use it. I love my spatula blades, and use it 5-10 times a week.

Scott,

That is fantastic!  Those are some extremely good uses for that blade.

Ron,    hahahahaha...me too

I would second that motion.

I would love to see a free one. That would be just great!

I think the person on iKC that has the most metal in their neck should get a free one.

I am officially declaring a campaign to get GEC to make an exact replica (Micarta faux ivory scales) of Abe Lincoln's six blade congress!!!

Craig, ROFL....

Scott, I am in!

Yes, yes, yes....GEC would do old Abe proud!

Count me in too.  Ivory micarta would look great.

#56.....hmmm........I'd like to see them make the #56 in a 2 3/4" size.

A PEANUT! That's it.....I want a GEC Peanut! PLEEEASE?!

No matter what we wish for them to make, they're only gonna make one that they're already tooled up for.
