Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I wonder if you have any idea how hard it is trying to add knives to a collection when you live in the UK.This is because as you know the Internet and Ebay in the past have been a great way of finding old and rare knives, but from a bought 2years ago I and lots like me have been stopped by Ebay,in an attempt to stop dangerous knives getting into the country they have banned all knives but kitchen knives as you know they can be quite lethal. This means that although 3inch pocket knives can be legally carried in the street, the 58mm according to Ebay is a deadly weapon just a little bit of over of overkill don't you think.Just be very grateful you live in the states, the land of the free,I can not wait for my next visit, sorry about the rant Ernie.

For fear of getting political, Ernie,  we have a bunch of nuts that would have us become just like GB.

Carry on the fight...

I hear you my knife brother! Such a shame that people have that opinion. JJ is right We have to change some these stupid laws enacted by people who understand nothing about knives.

I fear we're on that road going at top speed.

Guys,

I know it is rough out there.  I listen to you all and think "Who comes up with this stuff?"

If you look at knife crimes...a good number of the are done with kitchen knives.  The one knife set no one seems to have an issue with.  Lay a kitchen boning knife in your front seat.  If you get pulled over tell them you are going to butcher a hog and they just say OK..  Lay a hunting knife of the same size there and they call it illegal.

I fear my peers are correct.  In a short time we will face the same type of "logic"

I am sorry that UK has put such a law into place. Was there an epidemic of knife assaults that brought this about? They are trying every effort to strip us of our guns here in the U.S. and knives are secretly under attack and openly so in some places. This may lead to another revolution. You know what happened the last time we had a revoulution in this country. Sorry, just had to get that in there. Are there any efforts being made to repeal your law?

Any time the media gets involved you can bet your bottom dollar it's gonna get twisted in such a way that it will raise emotions, fear, and circulation/ viewers. Such is life for better or for worse.

Chuck this is just my opinion but it seems to me that this *epidemic of knife assaults*, is fuelled by our tabloid press,  every now and again they get an idea for some fright story to run and for a while it is a big deal then they go on to another bogey man story. A popular one is Devil Dog attacks, this refers to dogs on our dangerous dog list i.e Pit Bulls,Mastiffs,Staffordshires  etc once they get started on that one it seems every day a Devil Dog is biting the face of off a child somewhere, then all of a sudden they stop and some other urban terror comes along. Laws dont get repealed over here they just get ignored,by which i mean that the person who is going to keep a dangerous dog,or carry an offensive weapon or drive under the influence will do what they please and hard luck for the rest of us. I suspect it is pretty much the same in most countries...
