Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Just ordered my first Case knife (mostly from viewing lots of pics here), it's a lovely abalone knife, I wish it was a multi bladed knife because I wanted it to be my first traditional blade in my collection but the abalone in this thing just couldn't be ignored. Pics tomorrow when it arrives.

On a side note, some of you know I was looking to pick up a new gun. I found an amazing deal on a used gun website, for $250 (Not a misprint) I'm getting a friggin' Magnum Research Desert Eagle AE50. Can you believe that? It's a $1700 gun for God's sake! The guy needs to sell it because his wife is about to give birth and he needs to get rid of it fast. What I don't understand  is he IS able to ship it to me without me needing to go through a gun dealership. Whatsupwitdat?

Hugs to all,

Michael

Wow, that is a beautiful knife Michael!

Regarding the Desert Eagle, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!"  Be careful with that $250!

It JUST arrived, a little smaller than I expected but no big deal, it's beautiful, will post pics later tonight. I love Abalone, wish I could find the GEC knife that I saw on eBay (ApostleP's channel) for sale somewhere, that was a nice looking slipjoing traditional that I'd love to own. Got any idea where it could be found?

Michael

Michael, which GEC was it do you know?

GEC #57 Geppetto Whittler in abalone, here's a link to the video in question...

Odd, I thought the forums allowed for video embedding, did you turn that off?

Regards,
Michael

Michael, the youtube video shows up fine--- I think, just a short delay in vids posting waiting approval from Jan, Steve, or the mods--( a filter for spam, advertisements, etc.)--  Your knife is a beauty !!- I own many, many knives but my favorites are two different abalone Case trappers. One a Paua abalone from New Zealand and the other a green abalone from Baja, Mexico. Both are very different in colors, but hard to match in beauty in a man-made material--

Can you post a link to pics of them if they're on here? Would love to see them.

The link works, yes, but, for some reason the toolbar across the top wasn't visible when I posted that reply, you know, with the icons to post videos and photos and so forth, it wasn't there. It is now, so I'm guessing Firefox burped or something. <Shrug>

OK, the looking glass geppetto!  Mike has one http://www.collectorknives.net/gec-2011-tidioute-blue-abalone-lg-ge...

abolone is on my mind for sure!

@Jan: No love there, the page says it's out of stock. :(

@Steve} Yeah, me too, I need more now. :)
Oh man, it was a wharnie version too.

A whamie version? <Looks confused>
