Any other vintage collectors of Parkers, American Blade, Taylor, United Boker, Frost, or STAR brands out there?

Am far from an expert on these brands, but I do own a few!  I typically have gone "straight to the horses mouth", with many of my questions answered by Buzz Parker.  Have another friend, who I would consider experienced with '80s SEKI produced brands.  Drop me  line, or a question anytime please!  Thanks.

Yes Jan all of the FK fixed blades are made by Hattori, including the Jarl and Juni which require FK to ship Swedish Birch to Seki for the handle material. You can seethe similarity between the HT-70s and the FK HKs in the handles and pins.I believe you are right in that Hattori is the only, at least well known Japanese maker who works with Cowry-X.

Ken,

I have heard great things about the steel.  Maybe one day I will be able to try one out

Me too. LOL I've never used my cowery-X knives. Actually I have a Fallkniven S1 limited in 3G that I haven't either. Those are suppose to be 64 HRC and 62 HRC respectively, My users are all VG10 laminates.

This is my Hattori 3718 in cowry-X. He used to make this in Aus8a for Browning in the 1980s.

Beautiful piece Ken, thanks for sharing with us.  It's a pleasure to have you here too.

Parker Cut. Co. 4-1/4" Large Trapper, Appaloosa bone, main blade etched "Mongoose & Fowl", second blade etched "The Trapper", TANG STAMPED 'PARKER CUT. CO. EAGLE BRAND TRADE MARK SURGICAL STEEL JAPAN', NICKEL SILVER BOLSTERS/LINERS/BRASS PINS.

Iv seen some big fixed say (10-11 plus over all) condors maybe 80;s vintage  with seki  markings they were nice but the guy wouldent go below 100

the quality was all there but the refinement in the design was not .

it was tough becuse with no steel type markings it might have been a big chunk of vg10 and looking later there's almost no oldschool condor info

hey mark.  i am familiar with the condor brand name, dont think i own any though.

Condor is an originally Solingen Germany company that in the 1980s had a number of knives made in Seki, Some other names that had big knives made in Seki around then are Blackjack, owned by Mike Stewart at the time, and Gryphon, a brand name owned by The Cutlery Company. I believe all three had G.Sakai make their knives. Guttman Cutlery sold mostly Solingen Knives under the Edge Mark brand also had some models made in Seki. As did Junglee, before they switched to Taiwan production,

A couple of vintage Brownings made by Hattori. The Double Edged Damascus Hunter numbered limited edition, and the

Sportsman model 721. They are from circa 1984 and 1990 respectvely and both Gil Hibben designs,

thanks much for this info ken. please keep posting, and sharing your knowledge when you can.
