The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I am retired and don't need a knive for any job related reasons. I bought my first knive to help with around the house chores. I now have over 80 (Case, Buck, Kershaw, SOG, Schrade, Rough Rider) knives in my collection. I have to recognize that my purchases are more to feed my collection instead of a needed EDC. Share your story are you simply in need of an EDC or are you a collector

I'm not retired yet and carry a older knife every day. I like carryin older and sometimes a tactical too. Just like the classic feel and finish that you just can't get in a new knife. Right now I'm carryin this Shapleigh DE jigbone Barlow/Jack. It's razor sharp and cuts everything I need it to. With full halfs and worn down bone,,,,PERFECT!
Buck 110 is my personal Go To as an EDC
Also retired. Have one knife I usually carry, but a whole lot of safe queen types.

Collector, without doubt -- but I try to carry at least some of them!
But here's one of my collecting secrets: a lot of what I buy are lower-priced knives, for a couple reasons. 1) More affordable means more knives that I can afford to buy! and 2) They tend to appreciate less, they're less tempting to sell, so my collection is less likely to diminish in size over time.
Conveniently, this gives rise to a third aspect, 3) I'm more likely to carry these knives!
