Its amazing really, I think stag is the vast choice of the majority so far anyway! Thanks for posting that opinion,HMB.

Stag , Stag , Stag  I love Stag.   I really like the was case and Great Eastern cutlery do their stag. Its just beautiful to me. It doesnt usually carry well though.

Old posting but I am new here.  I agree with the Steve on stag.  Stag with a red case crest or stag with a Damascus blade.

Thank you Jim, I know you just can't get away from it! Here is the thing though, in recent times and since I started this "unofficial poll" on handle materials, there has been a shortage of stag and knife companies have looked for alternatives. What is interesting to me, things like Stag and Ivory are increasing in price and becoming more rare and in their place you are seeing materials like bone, horn and wood. We are seeing a change in the industry. Wonder how many notice that!

Hi Steve,

I like stag handled knives, but the bone ones are fine by me also.  You mentioned yellow, I love the Case yellow handled knives. Wood is ok, but I prefer Delrin or bone.

Thanks Ricky you have my favorite in yellow yes, and bone I know is fast becoming a favorite with some really nice jigging.

I like a dark brown bone handle on my stockman.

Rams horn, to me, has even more character than stag.  Then stag, followed by birds eye maple, are my favorites.

Thanks Ken I do too although second to yellow in my book!

Rams horn sure can be pretty, color, texture makes it attractive. I wonder how much of this we will see in the coming year.

African Blackwood is my favourite, but then again it is the only one I have , that wood is so smooth !

I guess I am in the minority because I am personally not a great fan of Stag.  My handle material of choice is nicely jigged bone in a pleasing shade of brown, tan or a deep blood red.  Everyone has their favorite.

Well said Dave and I like the brown as well!
