Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I am a hot sauce addict! My favorite is generally Tabasco. But there are others that I like too. Gunshot Sauce I love, though it isn't really hot....even their "Hot" one. But it has great taste, and can use it for marinade, BBQ sauce, everything. I also have been trying out Ole Smokey Tennessee Moonshine Hot Sause. Once again not really hot to me, but very good. I always use Tabasco as the baseline for hotness.

Do you have a favorite?

There was a show on The Discovery Channel (?) a while back on hot peppers and hot sauce. There was a hot sauce shot that sold sauce made from Bhut Jolokia and people came in and ate the samples like it was going out style! I don't know how they did it! Of course they were red and sweating! LOL!

Hey JJ, Dave's has a whole website!

Hmmm, I've heard several people say they like Crystal's Hot Sauce. And a restaurant on the cooking channel used it in one of their recipes. I'll have to get some and put it with my hot sauce arsenal.

That is the hotsauce shelf at my house LOL.  I still prefer Crystal

If you're ever in East Tennessee, there's a farm called Rushy Springs. They make probably 30 different sauces from 30 different chiles. Most are salt fermented for a unique vinegar flavor. My absolute favorite is the tennessee cherry chile sauce that they make and I've got a shelf similar to Jan's. No online store, though. Bummer cause I didn't buy enough last time I was in Knoxville.

Sooo, I'm not the only hot sauce addict. Cass tells everyone that I'd put it on my cornflakes if she let me! LOL!

We are going to have to check that out!

My favorite hot sauce is one that's made with "Cayenne Pepper". It is probably the favorite of most Cajuns. It's not as hot as some hot peppers but has a great flavor. Those that have the opportunity, will cut fresh green Cayenne peppers in their plate of food. I'll give ya'll my hot sauce recipe later. Oh, there"s a good chance that Rsd Rooster and Crystal hot sauce is made with Cayenne peppers.

hoo yah!

Fresh green Cayennes on the plate.  Now that is some good eatin'

Have to have them to make pepper vinegar and also fresh when eating blackeyes.  We go through a lot of peppers.  I need to start some new plants the cold got :(

We love pepper vinegar on our greens.

Pepper vinegar? Hmmm........

I raise a few plants of Cayenne peppers every year. Alot more than I can eat. I pickle some and some years I make hot sauce. The way I make it is let the peppers turn red then pickle them in large glass jars, wait 3 to 4 months. Then put them in a blender with some of the vinegar from the jar and puree them. I then strain them threw a cheese cloth and wa-laa, you have hot sauce. Note: I also put a little salt and garlic juice in the jar when I'm pickling them.
