Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I found this in a pawn shop recently. Knew nothing about it but liked it so had to have it. Paid $80 out the door. It looks maybe military and could be used for a variety of tasks like cutting, chopping, pounding.

It is just 12" overall with the blade being about 6 1/2". It weighs 1 lb, 3.2 oz. The blade is 1/2" thick at the thickest point. The handle is hard black plastic. The only marking found on the knife is F1 inside an oval on the side of the blade. The 1 could be a small letter L, not sure. It came with a very nice brown leather sheath with the only marking found on it being the same F1 inside an oval that is found on the blade of the knife.

Internet searches yielded very little info. Thanks

Well we know it made in the style of the PUMA WHITE HUNTER.  The number of companies that made their own version of that knife in Europe is endless.  A bit about the design can be found here White Hunter - How a design becomes a tradition

Just a followup on this knife. I took it to some knife shows and many gun & knife shows and no one knew what it was. Many wanted to buy it. I finally sold it to another seller at last fall's knife days show in Wilmington OH. Just a best guess but I think it is Spanish. I still would like to know for sure. Thank you.

Well Thanks for that update David!

David,

Hey Thanks for letting us know.  Hope to see you at the Spring show in Wilmington

David, FYI, F1 may not be a makers name, but the metal composition-- F1 is an alloy used in bandsaws, taps, drills, & dies. Working hardness up to 65HRC.-Offers good toughness and wear resistance--- Just a possibility--

Thanks for pointing that out John. It has the same mark on the sheath and I'm not sure if the second digit is a number 1 or a small letter L. It's hard to search for Fl since search engines take that as Florida. I really liked that knife. I may try to buy it back.
