Hello all and thank you for having me! My question is around Imperial Knife Company.

I came across an estate sale with a whole bunch of stuff,the gentleman who passed was a complete hoarder, his son told me that the knives came out of a sporting goods store that the father purchased when it went out of business in the 1970's, in that stuff was 2 display cases with an inventory of knives. The front of the case was the display knives and the back opened up with the brand new knives for purchase. Needless to say, I bought both cases with well over 100 NOS knives, still in the plastic bags and coated with the protective grease. I have identified all the knives except one. I have searched all over and cannot find this knife or even a mention of it anywhere. The knife is 2 bladed and a little over 3.75 inches closed and around 6.75 inches opened. The part # is DS-1, The name on the box and the knife is Imperial Deerslayer. Deerslayer is etched onto the main blade. One side of the handle is brown wood and the other side is black. it is in the original box wrapped in plastic with a brochure. I have included some pictures with the hope that maybe somebody can shed some light on this knife.

I know there was a set of 4 and I think they were mid 70's.  Still doing a little research to see if my brain is remembering all this correctly.  I honestly do not remember seeing a set of them in a good couple of decades LOL

  I believe those Imperial knives were made in Ireland. If I remember correctly Imperial was part of the Schrade company and those particular Imperial knives were made there. I remember reading about the Task Master Set and I have the Backpacker knife out of that particular set. If I remember right I found the info for those knives in reading the imperial cutlery history.
