Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I have been intrigued by the KaBar Dogs Head, and can find out little about them. I have heard that KaBar Knives are extremely hard to date.

The old ones are very expensive $200-500 and up. Wonder why they are so expensive? Are they rare? Not many around? I seem to see them at shows wherever I go. I sure would like one.

The Dogs Head have been re-introduced - I think in the '70's-and the new ones are very nice. I visited the Cutco/Kabar Cutlery in Olean, NY recently and saw a few.

What do you know about the Dogs Head? Any pictures to post here?

Here is my only one dated I think 70's - maybe 1984 - I think it was a Club Knife.

Ka-Bar has gone through so many changes over the years and one of the problems historically, is they did not stamp many of their knives. If you can find stamps it is valuable, with some stamps having more value than others. The Dogs head shield is highly regarded by collectors. That's a great one you have there!

Ag. Russell has a couple of fine ones in his recent catalog and maybe on his Web site. They're copper clad, instead of other type materials. I love KaBar, Dogs head knives. I just don't collect them. I too spread out already with my knife collection. Good luck, with them.

I used to have a bunch of Dogs Heads waaay back when. I really like them!

Craig, were they worth a lot waaay back when? Do you have any now? Any pics?

Thanks Steve, its one of my favorites.

Robert, thanks for the Reply.

Mine weren't old ones. They were ones made, gee I can't remember now, the 1980's? Sorry, no pictures. Don't have any left.

Any new members have pics of KaBar Dogs Head?????

I have the copper bolster model on my want list. I just love the look of those copper bolsters and shield!

Yes, Chuck, I do to, I think the Dogs Head is the neatest shield going.

Any one that loves dogs, should love them too. Chuck, I'd love one also. Another thing that's expensive is old Hobo's, even the new one are high $. Bad luck for me because I love them to.

It's one of the coolest ones going. But I'd hate to see it start appearing all over the place. That would really take away from the uniqueness of it. I guess if I buy the copper model I'll be obligated to have a nickle silver one as well? I mean, that does sound logical, right?
