Do you use a knife lubricant for your folders and auto assist knives.  If yes, what lubricant do you recommend?

I use a product called "nano oil" for my folders. I find that it cleans them nicely, I only need a couple of drops and it stays lubricated very well even after the obvious oil is gone.

I use the "light" variety.

I agree a very light oil is appropriate and it does not gum up the operation of the knife.

Jay just found this one out. Request a catalog! Hoppe's 9   http://www.hoppes.com/cat_solvents.html

Here is one more Jay :http://www.flitz.com/

Is that meant as a lubricant or as a protectant? Because he asked about lubricants and I think Sword oil isn't meant for moving parts.

I don't own a sword but it works great on knives. It's a very thin oil and that is the key. I use a A/C motor oil that is thin and works good too but that sword oil has it beat.

I use a synthetic oil distributed by Smoky Mountain Knife Works called "Coon P".  Its light, doesn't seem to yellow, and works great for me.  It can be used on any handle material so I just wipe down the entire knife with the stuff before putting it away.

A great protector type oil is sold by Mr. AG Russell called Rust Free. It is great on carbon steel knives, I even use it on my guns with great results. A little bit goes a long way. If you are looking to just store your knives, it's hard to beat.

Currently, I use Militec-1 for anything with an assist or torsion bar if it starts to rattle and needs some grease.  I've also used it on my ZT 0560 bearings with great success.  For oiling everything else, I use RemOil.

Benchmade Blue Lube has been working for just fine.

Im a Coon P user. found at Smokey Mountain Knife Works. I previously used 3in1oil but find Coon P is thinner. and doesnt seem to gunk up.(as bad)

30 wt. non-detergent engine oil.
