Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

There is something about facing one’s own mortality that helps focus one’s mind on what’s really important. As some of you are aware, I was diagnosed with Light Chain Multiple Myeloma (a blood cancer) back the middle of March. Nothing like a serious cancer diagnosis to turn one’s life upside down. I have now completed the first stage of treatment which included 4 months of chemo and then a stem cell transplant with a 12-day hospital stay.

My body is now in the process of rebuilding from scratch my immune system that the chemo killed off. All those childhood vaccinations must be redone over the next couple years. I will still be restricted to my home for the next 60-90 days. Even after that, travel and large crowds will be a challenge for some time. Sue will be standing in for me at many events in the near future.

Which brings me to the point of this epistle. While we have accomplished more than anyone, including me, ever expected in the past 20 years, and I could retire feeling like this latest cycle of my life was a success, I have no intention of doing so. One of the things that helped motivate me during this treatment was that we still have unfinished business. My goal of getting rid of every knife ban and protecting knife owners still needs finishing. Moreover, for all of you who have donated to support this effort and no matter how small or large, I also feel like I don’t want to leave you hanging. To repeat a trite phrase that is totally on point, you are the wind beneath my wings. None of this would have been possible without your support.

I still have ongoing treatment to deal with, multiple myeloma is never cured, just suppressed. But, please know that as long as I am able to, I will continue the fight for your knife rights and a Sharper Future for all Americans.

Sue will be attending Gun Rights Policy Conference  next week and BLADE Show West after that.

Winners in this year’s Ultimate Steel Spectacular have been drawn. Please be patient as we contact each winner in turn to select their prize.  We are still a few weeks away from shipping the remaining Donation Bonus Knives and the first tranche of prizes.

Meanwhile, if you are so inclined, please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Knife Rights Foundation to help me celebrate this milestone in my recovery.

And Knife Rights recently made the news: https://bearingarms.com/tomknighton/2026/09/10/viramontes-not-just-... and our attorney Dan Schmutter appearing on Cam & Co. In case you missed it, read the full details on our Viramontes amicus curiae brief
