I don't mean to be overly picky about earlier comments but the Buck knife used in the Scream movies was a Buck 120 General, not a Buck 119 Special.  They look almost exactly the same but the 120 is larger than the 119.  It would be easy not to notice the difference.  And as for Buck knives in the movies, there are countless movies that use the venerable Buck 110 pocket folder, and now even a Viagra commercial is using it.

i know they take special care with the Gil Hibben knives especially to try and make them with better quality steel and keep them true to the original design in the movie. Her is what's funny...I don't hear any complaints from fans!

This "Movie Star" wasn't a custom made knife but it saves the day in Disney's "Oz, The Great and Powerful"

Of course, knife experts know that this knie was made in the 1950s-1960s, The movie is set in 1901.  But hey,  its a fantasy !

Here is a still from my Favorite Knife, starring Bob Mitchum, Deborah Kerr and Marine Corp KaBar.  It might not be a custom knife but it was definitely an unbilled star.

The movie:  Heaven Knows Mister Allison from 1957

Watching Friday the 13th a new beginning. Near start of film main character pulls out a lockback knife with stag scales, Here is a close up of the tang stamp but I could not make it out. Anyone know what it is?

I guess it is possible. Gils knives show up in movies and TV shows all the time when he didn't know anything about it. Sometimes they will contact him to make something specific and other times they just buy the United Cutlery replicas and use them.

Gil has been making them almost from the beginning. The Alamo Bowie (previously called the 1830 Bowie) first appeared in his catalog in 1965 although, as shown in the British Blades forum, he did make them before 1965. The design has changed slightly over the years. Below is a page from Gils 1965 catalog. This knife is not shown in his 1964 catalog.

My name is Aidy Drayton

I have been a BIG fan of Movie/TV weaponry since i was a little kid... earliest memory would have been the Johnny Weissmuller "Tarzan" episodes that my parent used to enjoy watching. I liked his strength and of course his "KNIFE"

I then began to wait for the moment where each Actor would use their weapon/prop like Kirk Douglas in "Spartacus" Alan Ladd in "The Iron Mistress" right through to Sylvester Stallone & Arnold Schwarzenegger taking the "Movie Knife" to the next level.

My vision, was to speak with the Makers, Actors, Producers & Prop Guys directly, to source genuine and reliable information and accounts. This will not only give my " TRMS Website" credibility, but also bring many of these talented Makers the extra recognition that they so rightly deserve. A place where they can tell the story of the weapon / prop that that they themselves made... IN THEIR WORDS.

As well as the talented Actors / Actresses that used them

So far it has been going extremely well, I have already spoken with and confirmed the following...

Herman Scheider  -  Maker of the COBRA movie knife for Sly Stallone.

Gil & Linda Hibben  -  Maker of the RAMBO III & EXPENDABLES movie Knives for Sly Stallone.

Jack W. Crain  -  Maker of COMMANDO & PREDATOR knives, plus many more!

Chuck Stapel  -  Maker of countless Movie and TV knives.

Jose C. de Braga  -  Maker of the HIGHLANDER III movie swords.

Darrel Ralph  -  EXPENDABLES

Daniel Winkler  -  LAST OF THE MOHICANS

Randall King  -  LAST OF THE MOHICANS

Bobby Branton  -  BANDIDAS

Paul W. Ehlers  -  Knife Designer to the Stars.

David R. Beck  -  THE HUNTED

John Bowring  -  CROCODILE DUNDEE

Tony Swatton - Movie Armorer

Zorg - UK Armorer

Todd Begg - Blade Brother TV Show

Wayne P. Watson - The Last of the Mohicans

Actors Richard Chaves of PREDATOR fame, Stephen Chang V.C. Commander in FIRST BLOOD. Vernon Wells, of MadMax, Commando.

Julien’s Auctions  /  The Prop. Store  /  Shotokan911  /  William Henry Studios

This list is still growing!

All of the above have very kindly agreed to participate in the idea, and Interview and to have their work listed with the REAL stories behind each piece. I hope to add more as this journey continues, and when I have fully earned each Makers trust... which I fully intend to do.

I would be forever grateful, if you would consider joining this list and participating with my "THE REAL MOVIE STARS" concept. I am looking to collate all of the relevant information, or all of the information on each "knife" or "weapon/prop" and collect as many pictures to supply the most accurate and complete online "IMAGE Library" anywhere in the World.

Kindest regards

Aidy Drayton
