The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
OK, so by now we all know the chat is down. I have passed the frustration level and now think we should just have a little fun with it.
So tell what the first thing you would tell me in the chat, if it worked.
One entry per person
Everyone is eligible
Contest ends when we get the chat back...that's the fun part who knows?
I have a brand new Case Paste for our winner!
My wife, Lorna, is now addicted to "Forged In Fire." The only knives she ever cared about before were her kitchen knives. Now she wants a forge and a BIG anvil. This is the same wife who was born in "New York City...yipes!" Spent a lot of her childhood riding the elevator up and down in the Empire State Building where her father's office was..... moved to Memphis Tennessee with her family as a teenager, and finally ended up in Paducah, Kentucky. Married to me, a "Worker Person." aka...Redneck. (sort of like Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn in "Overboard"....great film)
She has learned to drive a tractor and bush hog. She got her concealed carry permit and is a crack shot. She caused me to buy her a .50 cal beltfed "Ma Deuce." She drives down to the rural mailbox in a Yamaha Rhino, rides a Timberwolf four wheeler, goes for rides with me on the Harley. Attends the Knob Creek Machine gun shoot. Loves gun and knife shows.
She now likes to fish. I took her deer hunting but she didn't want me to shoot Bambi when we saw "her." Lorna has become the mother to a flock of 20 hens and two roosters. Many eggs. All the birds have names too. Fowl names.
She hunts arrowheads and artifacts with me. Yes, the leisurely days of sitting at the Memphis Country Club and golf tournaments are long gone. No more "Shirley Temples" ....it's now local wine made at the "Purple Toad Winery" just down the road. (mmmm....good stuff) She had a short romance with Scotch Whiskey but that didn't last long.
Lorna still wants to teach a class on "Etiquette and Manners" for young ladies and gentlemen. We're active in church and teach Sunday School. She volunteers at the local food pantry.
I'd say I've got a very special wife!
Now she want a custom Kimber .45 ????? Where will it end? I thought acquiring a collection of 1941 Johnson rifles might be enough, but NO....she wanted a "Beowulf .50 caliber AR-15" and a Smith and Wesson Airweight....she got them of course. YIPPEE.
Then she saw an info-commercial on the "HENRY lever action rifle"......yep, we've got to support them.
Now I think she's read something about Teddy Roosevelt and a particular rifle he had: a Winchester 1895 in caliber .35 WCF. Very Pricey...so not acquired just yet. (too many grand kids getting married)...do you know how much a wedding costs? WHOA. (and I detest wearing a suit. After the wedding this past weekend, I'm donating my suit to Goodwill)
That's all I've got to say about thaaat. (Forrest, Forrest Gump)

I would say: Good Morning/Evening Jan. How is/was your day.
Whenever times get tough I like to lean on Groucho Marx for advice. There is no man who sees humans like Groucho.
"Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend (maybe we substitute "knife" for book), and inside of a dog it's too dark to read."
"Anyone who says he can see through women is missing a lot."
Hope you have a tolerable day today, Jan.

It does appear "chat" is still down .. on my computer anyway.
