Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I thought I would start a discussion on something not related to knives, or maybe you have something related to knives to share that might generate a smile or give someone a good laugh. We all need to see the humor in life once in a while. I get some pretty funny e-mails sent to me once in a while. The snip thing in windows 7 make it easy to copy all most anything you want. I don't know if this is the right place to do this or not, but here it is anyway. Please feel free to add something to this discussion you might find funny. You may just make some one giggle or smile.

THE CHICKEN GUN
The true story of the Chicken Gun. Too funny not to share! Sometimes it does take a rocket scientist!
Scientists at NASA built a gun specifically to launch standard 4 pound dead chickens at the windshields of airliners, military jets and the space shuttle, all traveling at maximum velocity. The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with airborne fowl to test the strength of the windshields.
British engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on the windshields of their new high speed trains. Arrangements were made, and a gun was sent to the British engineers.
WHEN THE GUN WAS FIRED, THE ENGINEERS STOOD SHOCKED AS THE CHICKEN HURTLED OUT OF THE BARREL, CRASHED INTO THE SHATTERPROOF SHIELD, SMASHED IT TO SMITHEREENS, BLASTED THROUGH THE CONTROL CONSOLE, SNAPPED THE ENGINEER'S BACK-REST IN TWO, AND EMBEDDED ITSELF IN THE BACK WALL OF THE CABIN, LIKE AN ARROW SHOT FROM A BOW.
THE HORRIFIED BRITS SENT NASA THE DISASTROUS RESULTS OF THE EXPERIMENT, ALONG WITH THE DESIGNS OF THE WINDSHIELD AND BEGGED THE U.S SCIENTISTS FOR SUGGESTIONS.
NASA RESPONDED WITH A ONE-LINE MEMO -- "DEFROST THE CHICKEN." (TRUE STORY)

ROFL!!!!!

J.J. That is way too funny.

I have to reply and add to this story.  It may be funnier to me than to most.  While still employed by TVA I worked with a company in Huntsville, AL that had and used a chicken cannon.  I was in their facility several times.  They manufacture aircraft windshields and use the chicken cannon to test them.  They do defrost the chicken!  I would have loved to see the cannon in operation but never was able to.  I did talk to their engineer I was working with about it.  He told me that when they used it, it made a gory mess.  He said the chickens literally exploded when they hit the windshield. He said he was glad he wasn't the one who had to clean up the mess!

So believe the story.  Chicken cannons exist.  They operate with compressed air.

LOL Charles, I wish they had let you fire one
