Miss Ruth wants to be my friend???
Been a tad remiss on checking in here -that time of year for me. But I got an email from iKnife / Miss Ruth this AM. She seems very anxious to be my friend for vague reasons, And it seems that I need to send her my email and contact info.
Anyone else had such an invite? If so, I suspect some kind'a fraud. Heads up knifers!

Yeah, there's been a flurry of spam coming in from a bevy of vague "interested" women. I guess some hacker "broke in" to the iKC database and copied out all our email addresses.
As I get older and time fleets so much faster, I'm losing all patience with anyone who wastes my time. In keeping with the theme of our forum I say that spammers should be drawn and quartered. ...and we can spend some time debating which sharp implement is best for drawing and quartering! ...any votes for the Buck 110? LOL -

These emails are coming from iKnife notifying you that they have posted to your page. They are not coming directly from the (babes/dudes/spammers/whatever they are).

Gerald, you do have a point. I guess that means the "spammers" have not just broken the INto iKC system but are "resident" in here.

Miss Ruth and her "friends" seemed to have quieted down as soon as Scott enacted the new community citizenship ordinance.

Sorry to have missed out on all the fun you guys have been having here about Miss Ruth, but been terribly frustrated trying to shut the barn door to all the Ruths and Lissa who are propositioning our members here. Even had a handful of members actually quit because of them getting hit on.
Just so you know I took a very drastic step, but close the door I did. I closed our community. By that I mean I make all new members have to be "approved" by me before the can get in. I hate it, but had no choice- I'm not going to have more members quit over those d***spammers! Might open the door after things die down, don't know. I just hope folks having to get approved doesn't deter new members from joining, but I didn't have a choice.
So, for now anyway, no more Miss Ruths! Oh yeah... I caught 4 of them suckers already :) -

As the guy what started this, I have / get to weigh in. And the most weighty matter is gratitude to Scott for doing all this inter-web technology stuff. Also, given that I'm not a knife collector, I'm glad I got in before Scot did what he had to do. I've certainly enjoyed the Miss Ruth thing and the give and take with all you GOB's. Reminds me of the old days when AOL WAS the internet and I hung out in the Very Tall Women and Wood Workers chat rooms.
