Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

These were forwarded by an unknown party to me.

It is a shame that this building is not on the list of historical building that are getting grants for restoration.  Allowing it to die a slow and painful death does however serve to remind us that manufacturing knives on a larger scale is becoming scarce in America.  This is the reason so many of us believe in buying USA when we can.

The building on the left is the office and the wind was blowing the door open and closed. I saw the
old cutler's with their lunch buckets leaving for the last time. The building is much worse than photos show. Another good heavy snow and it will likely be gone."

Alway so sad to see the passing of what was once an American Knife Company.

Thanks for sharing.  That is sad.  How many memories were made in that building?!

How sad, it is looking worse and worse. I love Cattaraugus. Thanks Jan, for the pics.

Thanks for the pics Jan, another piece of American history  slowly dying.

I sometimes think of how this could have been saved and utilized.  An artisans work shop or maybe even a co-op of knife makers.  Possibly as the place to hold the Blade show annually.  So many ways that it did not have to suffer this fate.  Just needed the necessary grants for basic restoration
