Here is one my grandfather picked up at an estate auction recently. Wilbert Cutlery Co, Chicago. This knife was made by Napanoch Knife Co, N.Y. sometime between 1910 and 1920, and was sold through the Sears & Roebuck Catalog. In 1919, Napanoch was bought out by Winchester. It is said that Winchester admired the quality of the Napanoch knives so much, that they purchased the company in an attempt to raise the quality on their own knives.

Great looking matching green bone scales on this knife, no cracks on either side. The blades are a little rough, and looked to have been cleaned by someone at some point. But overall it is awesome for being nearly 100 years old. I love the long nail pull, and both blades still snap like a gator.

Absolutely gorgeous knife Carl, wow wish I looked that good at 100!

Great knife!!

It looks in better shape than me! I have worse pits and rust.

A real beauty, wonder what stories that knife could tell.

A Napanoch!  A true piece of history in a knife

That cleaned up really nice! Pits? Those are character dimples!

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
