Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

So I recently started collecting Case knives. I decided to start with the Civil war Union/ Confederate knives, and I started with the Confederates. So my first knife I bought was the numbered and scrolled grey Confederate Peanut. I then got the N/S Mini Moose, Small Sadlehorn, Muskrat, Baby Butterbean and Small Stockman.

The first one, the Peanut was the same confederate grey color as the picture but the other 5 were a much darker blue, at first I thought the sent me the Union knives but the have the Confedeate symbol on them.

Does anyone else have any in the set and such a drastic color difference?

Zach, do you have a picture or two you can share??-Where did you purchase from ?? Many different Case Confederate knives out there-- Some were Case/Frost knives, some were Case/ Shepherd Hills Cutlery, and probably others.Give me an example to work with, and I will try to help.

They are from Shepherd Hills. I will see if I can get a picture on here.

It looks a little washed out and doesnt show how much blue is in them but you can see the difference in colors

The ones that have the blue tint were "infiltrated" as they were all manufactured north of the Mason-Dixon line!  :)

In all seriousness, I would shoot an email with a good pic & description of your knives to Shepherd Hills and ask "What Gives??" Their customer service is normally outstanding-- Every pic I can find of the Confederate set is the same pure grey your original knife has--Probably, Shepherd Hills will offer to replace the affected knives or give a viable explanation, or recourse. Ultimately, it is your decision. In VERY rare circumstances, error knives can become quite valuable. However, with you having that many misfits , unlikely that they are a rare occurence unless Shepherd Hills gives you a different reason. You can either enjoy them as is, have them replaced, or possibly enjoy a very rare set of error knives.
