I really liked all the knifes shown on this site from the Shot Show 2015. The case V42 really has caught my attention. I know I have seen some knock offs around because it looks very familiar. Would love to come across an original at some of the places that I love to shop in. Including antique stores, garage sales, you know just out browsing around. Today just to quench my desire for something I bought myself a little SOG key knife along with a few other small gadgets. In preparation to make over my key chain. Was kind of disappointed though to see it was made in Taiwan. It even locks open by a small button. Kind of cool. So now I will never leave the house with out a knife. Ha.

Though I love the replica that is being reproduced by case of the V42 stiletto. I have to admit that I am not much on buying and paying a lot of money for a copy of an original. I would be interested in bartering for such a piece though. I guess some veterans or war buffs may like it for display purposes. Most likely depending on the price. Since case's version of a Kabar sells for around 57.00. I will be curious to see what they try to sell this one for.

I just got a little spyderco bug for the keychain for the same reason Calvin

I am thinking that Case chose the right one to replicate, I believe they will do well with it

Hi Jan and others. Just love to see knifes such as the V-42 and other (original) knifes that are hard to find and valuable. Finding a deal on an antique knife is one of my most satisfying accomplishments. With that said I do not have but a couple of antique/vintage knifes in my collection. Due to the rarity and price when I do come across one I would love to own. It does pay to literally to research and look at as many sources as possible before jumping a buying a knife. Especially when you come across one that is in near mint to mint condition for its age. With the box puts it over the top. Wow!!!!!!!!!!

Calvin,

You are sooo right

If you have done little or no research, you can end up in a tough position.  A knife that is not what you though it would be or have over paid for very badly!
