Alright .. I need suggestions.
.
My daughter is going to Spain for ~ 2 weeks. I need suggestions on what (specifically cutlery manufactured in Spain) to request she pick up for me while there.

.

No worry about airline restrictions .. she can ship it.

.

I simply am unfamiliar with cutlery currently manufactured in Spain.

.

Suggestions .. please.

.

Thanks, Dale.

I think I would have to try out two Dale.  Both inexpensive there.  Aitor (a spanish SAK style) and a Nieto fixed blade

Couldn't she nip over to France Dale there are lots of charismatic knives come out of France .

You can see examples of a lot of European knives on Couteaux- Berthier ,

Indeed , the French do make some interesting knives.  I picked up my second Opinel in a small mountain village on a visit to France. My first .. I picked up in Stuttgart , Germany while stationed there (1976~79) on military duty. I've since added some Laguiole .. both for myself & my wife.

.

I unfortunately never made it to Spain. Now .. with my daughter headed that way ...........................

.

Thank you for the link , John !!! The Taramundi knives definitely piqued my interest .. i.e. they've made the list :)

You've a point , Jan.

.
Specifically .. the small  Muela TECKEL-8A looks interesting. I find both the size & blade style appealing.

.

:)  ..  It's also made the list  ..  :)

Toledo about 70 kms south of Madrid has been a Sword & Knife making center since around 500 BC and continues today to be one of the worlds leading cutlery making regions.

Just Google "Spanish Made Knives" it will keep you occupied for hours as Jan said Aitor and Nieto are good as are Muela

WOW .. thank you, Derek. Nice Link !!!

One thing that caught my eye were the knife purses / cases .. such as # 5 in the pic below.

I may very well have her keep an eye out for a unique one of those.
The one I have @ the moment my wife purchased online .. it protects my Queen #06L teardrop.

.

Nice link .. I'm still paging through the knives on that one !!!

Spanish made knives .. brand names.

Also .. “navaja” is spanish for knife. I learned this when I was in Columbia & went out on the week-end looking for Columbian made knives.

Muela … a Muela TECKEL-8A would be cool .. I found it for 46 euros here ..

http://www.cuchilleriagomez.com/cuchilleriagomez/245510/muela-tecke...

… just so you know what one looks like.

A muela w/ a lever on the back for unlocking ..22-F/CURRO.. such as shown here …

http://www.cuchilleriaalbacete.com/co-en-siglo-xviii-curro.html

would also be way cool !!!

A muela GT pocket knife .. as shown here …

http://www.cuchilleriaalbacete.com/co-en-3193-xx-gt-pocketknives.html

would also be cool & in the right price range.

Cudeman … pocket knife with a ring pull release .. as shown here …

http://www.cuchilleriaalbacete.com/co-en-navajas-de-bolsillo-3.html

would be good ..&.. in the right price range.

JKR

Aitor

Nieto

Celaya

Crossnar

................ Bottom line .. Spanish made .. keep it around 50 euro's …...........

Love you,

Dad
