Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Here is a place to post those Steel Warriors and Frost branded knives. I know that a lot of you out there have them. I have heard mention of them from time to time.. I started really getting into collecting on a lot of these because you could get whole sets for very little money. S0 here is a place that you can show them.

I believe the "German Steel" comes from Frost's Hen&Rooster factory.   I have the same problem with German Steel as I do Surgical Steel.   Unless they say what grade the steel is  you have no real clue what you're getting!   Steel Warriors are clearly marked 440 and they have a Rockwell Test.  That at least gives you some idea as to what you're getting.

When a company says German Steel or Surgical Steel it seems to me they are jerking you around.   I get it, the steel came from Germany!  What kind of steel is it.  For instance the steel used in surgical scalpels is 304, better known as 18/8 Stainless Steel.  It is 18% chromium and 8 % nickel.  It's great for a razor thin scalpel but it dulls quickly and if you were to make it as thick as knife blade it would be impossible to keep sharp!    The same steel is used to make stainless steel bowls used in the operating room!

Frost should be forthcoming when it comes to its German Steel.  I'm guessing it is 420.
