Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I am new to your forum and must say I am not the enthusiast I wish I were. I have acquired a couple knives from a friend and we know they were his grandpas'. ( My friend is 63 yrs)  Now, I need some information relative to them. If anyone has information and estimated values it would be awesome. My brother is a collector but not to the extent to identify these. I hope all the images aren't too much. Thank you for approving my membership!

Thanks Beckie we are glad you are with us here. We will take a look at the pictures and see what we can tell you.

Much appreciated Steve. Very interesting to say the least. The dates on the souvenir knife are really interesting. Thanks for the welcome and thanks for your help! I  hope I didn't post in the wrong place...if so...apologies!

One quick question, I can't quite make out that tang stamp can you just write what it says exactly. Its the 3rd picture down

H. Frohsinn

Solingen Germany

Well can't zero in on it yet beckie but we will keep trying. Several companies made knives in this style, commonly called a fish tale or bowtie knife. this one commemorates an event which is different.

So last question any numbers on the knife at all?

No numbers. Very rare to me. Both are in fact. happy hunting and thanks for all your effort. Look forward to any and all info.

hey everybody. the tang stamp i see must be on the fish tail knife because i know for a 100% fact the small knife was made by D.PERES SOLIGEN GERMANY... from what i have been told and read the ones with the keg of ale on the blade D.PERES made himself. i collect these knives and they are not as rare as you think...they are very neat though. i love how they have the little nibe for ya to pull out the blade.but if you look at tang stamp close you will see D.PERES.  on average these knives run...depedning on condition about 20-40$..this i would say 30$ ...like i said i ahev a few including a PPHILADELPHIA one with liberty bell and all...great knife.

now the fishtail knife... from the looks of it it looks like the blade has been switched out... do you see the main pivot pin vs the rear pin in color. the blade german... the handle maybe... but i doubt it.  i have yet to meet a fishtail expert!...lol... hope i helped.. at least with the D.PERES.

Thanks for you info Peter. I will be on the look out for a fishtail expert. Cheers!

your welcome!... if the little guy needs a new home...message me we can work out something.
