I would bet either ITALY or MEXICO.
I dont think Italy. The ones I've seen from Italy have a lock back release.  Mexico means it was made in japan. So I was told. The guy I got it from mentioned Japan. It's got all the tattle tale sign's of being from mexico.  The bail is scrolled, Has batwing guard's, BrassButton,  But this one is marked"stainles steel" on the tang.  While most are marked "RIZZUTTO EL STILETTO MALINO" on the blade.
