Don Roberto Boker established Casa Boker.

BOOM!

Dale and Roger, you were all over that one!

November 1, 1865, Robert Boker invested in a small hardware store in Mexico City. Thus a new branch of the Boker empire, Casa Boker, began. The investment was part of a Boker family strategy that in addition to New York, Canada, and Mexico, also sent family members to Buenos Aires (Argentina), Melbourne (Australia), and St. Petersburg (Russia) to sell iron and steel items produced in the Boker firms.

From its modest beginnings Robert's company soared to national prominence over the next three

decades. Casa Boker was not just an outpost of German commerce in Mexico. It sold as many U.S. and

English products as German ones. It eventually carried over 40,000 different products. This branch is still a market leader, and is known as “the Sears of Mexico”.
