Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

We have a discussion where we posted our yellow handled Case knives.  It got me to wondering how many of us have brown handled Case knives.  I decided I would start a discussion by showing my brown Case knives.

If you have brown, show them!

Nice Andy!

I forgot, I DO have another brown Case, (Case Carhartt actually), Mid-Folding Hunter in brown G-10, (just another form of Delrin right?). Oh well, at least it's brown.

Nice!

Well, it IS a "brown synthetic"!

In that case..............

Uh oh, I started something. Nice knife, I just so happen to be watching the Stockman version on ebay right now, might be my next Case unless I can resist the addictive urge to buy yet another knife, (yeah sure, like that's gonna happen). Whether the G-10 is the same as Delrin or not I don't know, it is however extremely hard and durable, I can't imagine it ever developing "pocket wear", but like you say it IS synthetic and it is brown. Did you know that cross hatch pattern is meant to emulate the denim on Carhartt jeans? Looks close to it if you squint, sure doesn't feel like denim though.

Nice John......again! LOL!

Syd, Delrin is a DuPont trade mark.

Delrin - Acetal (polyoxymethylene, POM) is a thermoplastic polymer commercialized in the early 1960's. This material is produced through the polymerization of formaldehyde. ACETAL HOMOPOLYMER resins are currently made by the DuPont Company under the trade name Delrin®.

G-10 is a high-pressure fiberglass laminate, a kind of composite material. It is created by stacking multiple layers of glass cloth, soaking in epoxy resin, and compressing the resulting material under heat until the epoxy cures.

Thanks Craig, I knew G-10 was made in a similar fashion to many carbon fiber products, that explains why it is so very durable. I have vacu bagged items in both carbon fiber and fiberglass in my model building in the past, so I am familiar with the concept. Like I said earlier I cannot imagine it ever developing pocket wear, in fact I expect the blades to wear out long before the handle.

Nice Back Pocket John, that is another frame on my want list.

Nice Carhartt knives Leo!

Yeah, they look like good users. They made some of the Carhartt knives in bone too, but the 75 in bone is hard to find..........maybe I should get an extra 75 in G-10........just because.

Nice Carharts!
