Here's the new pony I eluded to in my previous post.  a 2017 prime vintage stag with very nicely matched covers.  Took quite some time to find just the right one!

That's a beauty Dennis, and it has the lined bolsters like my Walnut Rogers Bone version; very nice indeed! Proves that good things come to those with patience.

Wow, got to agree; those lined bolsters with that stag looks amazing. Very well matched covers to boot.

Beautiful one, Dennis

Thanks everyone ..... I really like this one!

The new one is classy enough for a formal occasion, Dennis.

True enough J.J., but I think this one would be more suited for formal occasions (if I could remember what those were!!)  I've been told that knife collectors might be viewed as an odd lot.  I'm hard pressed to disagree.  I've been known to cancel a doctor's appointment when I knew a new knife was scheduled to arrive that required a signature.  I think I went one step beyond with this one.  I saw it, knew I wanted it and hoped I was lucky enough to acquire it.  Two problems ... it was an auction and I've been sick.  Anyway, the day the auction was to end, went to bed early, but set my alarm for a little after midnight ... just before the auction was to end.  Sickness be damned!  Put in the highest bid I was willing to make and luck prevailed.  While I spent more than I would have liked ... it was definitely less than I could have spent, based on other prices I've seen.  Anyway .... here's the latest in the stable  ... a 2002 with mother of pearl covers and a script Case shield. Overall condition ... Excellent.  Just a few swirls on one of the bolsters that will buff out easily.

Wow, beautiful, Dennis.

Super classy. Very nice.

New Pony in the stable.........

Gold Curly Oak - 2018

Wow Craig, awesome, where are you finding these?

Thanks Syd! I got this one at deadwoodknives.com, though a number of other dealers have them too.
