I thought it was the module group that did the assembly of the knife, but don't know for sure. Will be interesting to find out!

I found this on the Case Forum where they asked what Module 3 or module 4 on the box meant, and was responded to by a member with this answer,

CASE calls their work groups "modules" and each has a number. It is just the number for what group assembled the knife.

Katie Shonts the Case Historian answered with this,
To add to this, once in a while, there will be a 1N,2N,3N, etc. including an N on the end. This is for Nights.

Those usually have the "MOD" in front of them Max. But I could be wrong it wouldn't be the first time today according to SWMBO.

Gerald I do understand what you are saying bout being wrong! LOL!

I also have seen the word Module or Mod on the box but also more than not have just seen a number and sometimes the N that Katie had mentioned. So I just thought that sometimes they may use the word Module or the abrieviation or no word at all.

But I am curious as to what it all means and I have been wrong before, after all I have been married three times not to mention all the practice i've had!  LOL!

Hi!

Yes, this number usually begins with an M and sometimes ends with an N.

It signifies the finishing team that assembled and finished the knife to completion. It starts with an M to signify the Module Unit and may end with an N that signifies that it was on the Night Shift.

I'm glad that she said usually begins with an "M" because I have many boxes that have no "M" but do have a number and some have an "N" after the number.
So I guess it doesn't have to have the "M" but a least have a number to show that it was finished by a certain group.
