Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hello everyone.

My wife and I are flying out to Maryland next week for our grandson's first birthday.

We would like to buy him his first pocket knife and would like it to be a Case. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to get him?

Would like to get him one every year...oh and I did see the Birthday knives but Nov.13th 2012/2013 are both sold out.

That is so neat, starting him out young.

Well, went to three local knife sellers, one a Case dealer (nice Trappers & Canoe) not much else. Mostly Benchmade around here.

Called some local MD dealers who took the time to search their stock, Bass Pro couldn't help w/o item numbers and I couldn't find these on the WRCASE website.

So I combined the ideas of Max & Craig...I ordered the "My 1st Case" from the link that Max posted XXCUTLERY.

Heading out tomorrow, knife should be there Friday, B'day party on Saturday, will post a pic when I get back.

Thanks to all, this couldn't have happened on short notice with the help of the iKC community.

Michael,

It's a shame you are going to miss the Waterfowl Festival in Easton, MD (down on the eastern shore) this weekend, starting Friday the 8th.

Going to be in Laurel Howard and my wifes B'day is Sunday, I was trying to figure a way for my son-in-law and I to sneak out to the Fredric gun show but that's not going to work time wise either.

That sounds like a great time..hope you're going and enjoy the fun.

I'll be there.  It has been a few years since I last attended.  Looking forward to it, and the beer/wine tasting as well.

Can we get BDay pics?  It would be fun to see him with his first knife

I agree with Jan! What a cool idea, Jan!

Yes, there definately will be pics.

I have  a grandson who just turned two.  I am a member of the Case Collectors Club.  I signed my grandson up as a Junior Member.  I am getting him the CCC Junior Member Annual Knife for each of his birthdays.  So far I have the 2012 and 2013 knives.  On his 16th birthday I plan to present him all sixteen Junior Member annual knives.  He also gets the quarterly magazine from the club.  I am saving all of those for him too.

This would be an ideal starter...

That just awsome Charles...you're all in...I like that.

These must be etched in some way, DOB or month etc. I will have to get some more the info from Case when I get back.

Sue, he will definately be heading down the B.S.A. road so yes that is another good collection starter.

His father is an Eagle Scout and there will be scouting & hunting in his future.
