As of June 4 we are in negoations to purchase Queen Cutlery Co. / Schatt & Morgan where if succesful we will be taking over all operations. Everything is just in negoations and nothing is final yet but once happen I think you'll see lots of new and exciting USA made lines which we have always been committed to.

That is INCREDIBLE NEWS, Ryan!!!

Some quick input:

* I own a bunch of Queen and Schatt & Morgan knives. The quality on some is fantastic (both in Queen's product and the SxM). However...within the past two years, the quality of what I've seen from Queen/SxM has diminished. I bought a Heritage series Rosewood knife whose quality was B-/C+. Conversely, I own a few 2004 to 2006 SxM knives that have quality very similar to GEC.

The reason that I'm telling you this is that, at least for me, I'd be willing to buy a lot more Queen and SxM if I knew that the Quality would be consistently at a level similar to GEC. With the Daniels family owning and running the company, I'm confident that Queen/SxM can be put back on the right path.

Best wishes in your negotiations!

Great News! Good luck. Hope it all goes well!

im a QUEEN collector. i agree with JOHNNY 100%... i mostly collect vintage SXM AND QUEEN-but

if everything goes well and the quality returns,im sure i will be collecting the newer pieces once again.

i have to say though that i have loved my fair share of the newer SxM knives. i would like the file&wire series to stay but would love it once again returned to the quality it was at.IMO.

agree with you chris on the past few years i haven't bought any new, schatts or queens.

i also agree with you one the earlier knives.2002 series with the BLP inlays was the last i really liked.

I dont know that quality has been an issue for us.  The inconsistency of the quality has been though.  I certainly agree with Chris, with Ken Daniels at the helm this will put that consistency back into the equation.

I am a Queen knife collector, the ones I have and enjoy are the Robesons, the Schatt Morgans, the Scagels, the Northwoods and some of the older Queen knives. There are some others I'm sure I'd love but I have never held one in my hand. I think young blood into a great old knife company can only excite things in the right direction....Go Daniel's Family! We are all pulling for you.

We would love to hear any news related to this.  I know things like this take time and we will try to be patient :)

When, when, when . . . when will we know more?

hey gary whats so funny is i was gonna ask the same thing....  but with patience normally comes great things... even if this deal is or isnt being made with queen.... im curious to when the next D-FAMILY knife is due...anybody???

I'm with you Peter. Patience is the key, and I'm sure we will be rewarded.
