Just wanted to let all of you know that the iKC knife will start to ship this week.  The first few trays are now in the finishing department and will be going to the inspection/packaging department today.  Should start to ship out no later than Thursday.

This is just the initial impressions of the knife, I'll have more to follow after a while.

Okay, mini review.

This knife is super smooth in opening, which is all I expected from the #72. The Spear blade is really perfect for the #72 frame, it's my first Spear from GEC and it looks like it will be extremely useful. That big blade locks up tight after it's smooth walk to the open position. The nail nick is nice and deep, so it's super easy to catch with the thumb nail, but with such a big blade it sit high enough for a quick pinch open. This would be a good one for gloves. The edge is not as great as the last couple of GECs I got, but this one will slice paper up.

The jigged bone is beautiful, it really reminds me of a good outdoors knife. I think this knife would be very much at home on a trap line. The jigging is kind of stack and wavy, very nicely done.

Sniff Test.

Besides from the oils of the factory this knife has a sweet smell it, kind of like roasted coffee beans, coincidence, I think not.

A great club knife indeed, I fee;l for those that decided against getting one, this is a good one.

wow, the coffee beans will certainly add to to sniff test.  Thanks for telling us the mini review Johnny.  I think you are right, the ones that decided against it may have a change of heart too late

Yeah Jan, this one is truly a great club knife.

I have enjoyed many GECs, but this one is special. It will forever symbolize the friendships I have made here at IKC. I couldn't have picked a better knife to have as a special reminder.

Thanks for all your work Jan.

That sounds great Johnny, I may have to wait for the mail man instead of leaving early to go to the camp. First time I ever heard of a sniff test....lol

Got mine today!  Great job guys!!!!

Glad you like it Dan

Hey Guys,

There is a sheath made just for the 72 spear blade if you are thinking of one.  Our own Dave Taylor from Knife Leather Traditions makes a wicked wonderful sheath but I honestly only know of one place to get them.  So if you are interested they can be found here
