Max,
What do you think...will the spring be heavy duty?
Aha! Just as I thought.
I'm with Max on this one. Right on Max!
Robert,
I would think so. Next version out should be Northfield and then GEC in stainless Robert. This is the production schedule so far
#72 Northfield Lockback with new Lumber Jack Spear Blade, Jigged Bone, Primitive Bone, Burnt Stag
This is the style knife I had when I was a little boy. I heard that there gonna make a few in 440c stainless, is that right?
I'm with you Jean. I would even go a bit farther on the blade shape and begin my edge bevel at about the position of the Tidioute "E" and extend it in a gradual and gentle curve up to mid-point on the blade. I just happen to like a long and gradual "belly" to my blades.
I do believe there will be a nice swedge on the top of the blade, and I would expect the Northfield knives will have the long, French style, nail pull and perhaps threaded bolsters as well.
I think this is going to be another popular #72 pattern. The wide blade should make it an easy opening knife even without using the nail nick. The precisely fitted lock and the unique coil spring actuating the locking bar make this one fine Lockback.
I have this knife in hand and,#1 the spring,as in most GEC lockbacks,is very light. # 2,the 440c 72's that are coming, will be made with a clip blade, and another run with the wharncliffe blade. The Northfield 72's with Lumberjack Spear Blade are coming in Jigged Bone[color to be determined],Primitive Bone,Snakewood, and Burnt Stag.As far as I know at this time.LOL.

Thanks Bob!
Any word as to when those #72's in 440-C might show up?
