With a little google help I found this. The second page explains what an "oil sucker rod" is.

I have just been looking at the 2013 production totals Jan. I have a question that hopefully one of our resident experts can answer,
Oil Sucker Rod Wood 3 pcs. serialized ???
What on earth is it and has anyone seen such a handle material, even more important has anyone got any pics .

2013 PRODUCTION TOTALS are here!!!
Pinch...Pinch....LOL
It's harder to follow a knifes origin than a hound dog on a rabbit trail....lol
Well I saw no reference to Germany produced Northfields but there is a reference worth looking at. 1884-1890 Northfield used the Excelsior Cutlery Company name as a subsidiary in their business. Modern Excelsiors are made in Germany
Ivars, I just saw this. I will do some research in the Tidoute book by David Anthony today for you and see if Germany was stamped on those originals. I have seen many of them but never one in this pristine condition nor with the German stamp
ivars... i believe you have there an old northfield ... not gec
.
I wish I knew Robert, this will be the first year we have ever missed :(
