This 44,40 1982 Winchester was found in a Nevada Park leaning against a tree

The article I read said 1892 ( got it right this time ) And that it was 132 years old

2015-132=1883

Idont feel so bad now, have you seen the serial # that will tell the story

I bet if they looked around they might find the owners remains,100 years ago you did not walk off and leave your main protection

Kinda reminds me of a story my late Uncle Buck told me-- My uncle Buck died 40 years ago-- He was a scout sniper in WWII and an avid fisherman and crack shot/hunter-- After the war, was Assistant Editor of the Dallas Times newspaper-- When he retired, he built a cabin (and the road) on top of a mountain a ways outside Little Rock-- He told me about a an old gentleman from the surrounding AR area--Aged 95--- They found him in the woods dead with a brace of squirrels in one hand and his squirrel rifle propped against a tree--- If and when ya gotta go-- Go out doing what you love !!

Love the fact it just sat there.....and yes John what a great way to go!

I bet your right the remains were near there at some point

The rifle is a Model 1873 Winchester.  Just 8 years older than mine.  The Model 1892 was around yet at that time.
