Tobias, a .22 magnum in a rifle would make a pretty good self defense weapon.  A lever action would give quick repeat shots if needed and would be more accurate than a pistol.

The gun restrictions in Chicago/Illinois are so nasty that even after the Supreme court said we could have a pistol it is still practically impossible for a law abiding citizen to get one!  If only it was this hard for the gang-bangers.

25 feet from the cover of the kitchen counter to the front door. Pretty certain I could still hit a quarter at that distance.  Do it with the BB gun all the time. I'll aim for the Adam's apple, it might bounce off the skull.
