Okay guys, you have to leave your state of living tomorrow and you can only choose one gun. It's a pressure situation and it doesn't matter if someone sees that you have it. What are you taking with you and why?

In my world handguns are backups.Even though my shoulder is messed up I would take my Springfield socom II. With out a doubt. And of course all 7.62s aloud.

Johnny....

My 10/22 Ruger.  The reason is it is light, I can carry 2,000 rounds with no problem, if needed it can kill and I can take small to medium game up to and including deer.  One firearms and 4 to 100 knives.  LOL!

Clint, your answers make too much sense sometimes. Hard to argue with that choice and one that may affect mine.

Guy, I imagine that rifle would do a lot more damage then a 22., beautiful piece for sure.

I would take my shotgun. I can provide food much easier with it. One shot most of the time. Anything from a duck, rabbit, squirrel, deer and bear. I could defend myself with it also. I know that's what I'd bring because that's what I bring now most of the time when I hit the woods. The lead projectiles, has a wide variation. Small bird shot, rabbit shot, buckshot and rifled slugs. No Clint, I think I'd be eating roast duck and you'd be eating red birds...lol

Donnie says he is taking his single 6, Ruger .22 mag with interchangeable cylinders.  Strong on the .22 mag and he can carry multiple ammo.  Defense and food

Robert....
When I was about 25 I knew and old man who lived in Colorado in the mountains most the the year round. He took deer and elk with a .22 LR in an old Savage simiauto. He also shot ground birds, squirrels and snowshoe rabbits. It is not the power of the gun but the placement of the round. Be cool and steady. More people have been killed with a .22 handgun or rifle than anyother weapon. I can carry 500 rounds to your one box of 12 guage.

Ha..Ha..Ha..you are right, the most versitile gun is that little .22cal. I'm up in age with more than a few handi-caps, so it makes it hard for me to shoot good with our little rifle. A person in good shape, should consider the little .22 cal, big time. I counldn't wait to hear your response from my  little picking, on this ..lol

Robert....

Enjoy your roast  Duck (two pounds of meat) and I will be enjoying my Steak (Deer...110 pounds of meat) with a red feather in my hat. LOL!

I mainly want a gun with us for protection if we are leaving suddenly under those circumstances.  I dont know what state we are going to but it better have some seafood because neither one of us eats much game LOL.  So along with the gun I am taking my fishing rod!

Jan....

Doug's choice is good.  I have the same pistol.  I would plan to move to Arizona as the gun laws are good, plenty of room, not bad winters and it will be beach front property on Christmas Day....thereby sea food.  LOL!

How about this little gun? I have an over and under, .22cal on top and a .410 shotgun on bottum. That way I'll have the best of both. The .410 has slugs and buckshot, with a veriety of fine shot. It's lighter than the big shotguns, has a sling on it and both barrels shoot ammo that's small and light.

Robert, if I was taking a 22 cal, the over and under 410 or 20 ga combo is a fine choice. Especially if worst case scenario some one decided they needed your 22 cal. Not many people can do one shot one kill with 22 cal. Great choice.
