Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hope this is the right place, my first post in this group.

My good friend and fellow bladesmith/leathercraftsman, Rick Lowe (RLo to his friends). sent me a quick holster design he's been playing with to try out. Surprisingly simple and comfortable. I liked it so much I made a second one slightly larger and personalized it just a little. Great under coat carry.

Carl, nice looking holster.  I like it.  Like the Bersa too.  You posted in exactly the right place.  Hope to see more of your posts.

Interesting design Carl.  Let us know how it works out on long term carry.

Thanks, been wearing and using for almost 2 weeks now. Variety of tasks from splitting/stacking firewood, forging/general shop work, and long fence line treks through the woods. Gotten to were I have to remember to take it off. Pistol rides high and tight. Was dubious a first about retention, but there is natural tension caused by body/belt to holster. Reasonably quick to draw, but sometimes have to look to reinsert (most of time not).

Yeah, the Bersa is a pretty nice little handcannon in 45. Digests everything I've run through it so far - hi/lo reloads, factory hardball and hot defense loads. The de-cocker was a new experience for me.......thinking it was a normal safety, first time with a hot chamber was a bit unnerving. Muzzle blast is typical for large bore short barrel. Wish the grip was a bit thinner (got small hands). Anyone know of a good after market? Factory design is not conducive to home mfgr'd replacement.

Nice Carl!

HI CARL, IS THAT YOUR FIRST BERSA? I'D LIKE TO KNOW HOW ACCURATE THEY usually are overall.

I'm most likely gonna buy a gun in 357 sig/ 40/ 9mm as my last choice . i'd like a barrel  approx. 4 - 4.5 " long and weight not over 2 pounds. so polymer guns are in my sights . pun intended

Like the Bersa a lot (it's my truck gun). Solidly built with a little weight. If you are wanting light - not it. Recoil is typical of any 45 it's size, more muzzle blast than anything with a short big bore. I have to polys that are much lighter and a tad slimmer, but there is a trade off on recoil/recovery time. 45XDs is my favorite of these.

My all round favorite is Kimber Ultra Carry II, heavier, very accurate, best trigger (shorter and smooth).

Read your other thread on same issue.....recoil from a .357 rev. is not any discernable from a 45 (IMO). With hotter defense loads being more in the 357. I like the serious close range stopping power of the 45. Nothing walks through one. Either one is great defense, but ultimately depends on the shooter being confident and proficient. No time to learn on a dark stair case. So practice - practice - practice until all becomes a natural reaction reflex and you don't have to think about sights.
