They think that the black one is more inposing then the brown one because of it's looks. What we think looks cool others see the opposite.
Personally, I like the other. It's got class.
The plastic/composit is there to reduce weight and add more versatility to the weapon.
Never particularily liked firing a rifle with a pistol grip.
Neither is effective without ammunition. Been scouting local gun shops and there's none to be had around here. Not talking about .223 either. Just about any handgun ammo is off the shelves. Rumor on a gun forum that I frequent is that the Fed. Govt is buying it up from warehouses, before it can hit the stores, to keep it out of the "civilian" market. Just a rumor, but worth a thought.

Someone showed me the numbers on the guns and calibers that have killed people last year. The .223 cal. and assult rifles, only made up a very small amount of the killings. So, I don't understand, what the Feds. are so worried about on this gun?

I have looked very hard to find right now...

I'm with you JJ, I like the Mini14. I loved mine. I had it in .223 and 7.62 Russian.

"Fed. Govt is buying it up..." That's scary....and believable.  And if the Fed. Govt is buying it up.....they're using OUR tax money! I want my ammo!

JJ,

I have been hearing a lot about the ammo shortage.  Many folks in different states are reporting it.  I have personally heard from Texas, NC, and MN.  Check out this article

Yep, none here.

None of the big box stores have any. Wally World, Sportsmans Warehouse, Academy, etc, have any. Found some .380 & 38 special at a local pawn shop. No 9 mm, for the Beretta. Fellow came in looking for .223, and the guy behind the counter said that he had no idea when ANY would be available.

I can verify the following, however the local Sportsmand Warehouse had a small supply of 45 ACP.

The pawn shop seemed to have a supply of handgun with the exception of 9mm.  Get out the phone book and find out where the mom and pot gun stores are and GO THERE.  Don't expect any .223's though.  I don't think that these supplies will last much longer either...

Ammunition inventory status

The mass rush by citizens to purchase ammunition ahead of an Obama / Biden unconstitutional (and unlawful) executive order banning such sales has resulted in the near-depletion of available ammunition as follows:

• Rifle rounds are completely gone everywhere.
• Shotgun shells are somewhat more available but still limited.
• Handgun rounds are limited and becoming difficult to find.
• 22LR rounds are completely gone. Lesser-known varmint rounds such as .17 HMR are still available.

Conspiracy?

They listed on the news five of the evil things;

1. Flash suppressors (I guess suppressors have killed tons of people?)

2. Full fore stock/shroud (darn those full fore stocks, it's their fault!)

3. High capacity magazines (the bad guys will have them but we won't)

4. Pistol grips (you can't pull a trigger without a pistol grip?)

5. Folding butt stock (the evil butt stock...how dare it fold and kill people!)

It's not Zombies we have to worry about, it's the morons.
