@ George .. I had my two out for a jaunt in the woods yesterday .. Briar kicked up a rabbit out of some gnd cvr .. & promptly lost it.
Poor little guy has no nose .. certainly has the drive .. but no nose :(
I grew up in a rural farming community & we had a great working pair of hunting dogs .. a walker coon hound and a rat terrier. The walker had the nose, drive, & intelligence. The terrier was FEARLESS. 'n the dog's loved one another .. 'n wked as a team. The little terrier would dart in & grab the coon from behind .. 'n the walker would finish it. That little terrier would climb a tree if there was so much as a 15* incline .. 'n she would go INSIDE a hollow tree after a coon .. FREAKING FEARLESS !!!!!!!
I miss that beagle's first yelp when they kick up the rabbit .. you can tell how close the rabbit & how hot the track just by the tone of that first yelp !!!!!!
jan pups are 3 wks old now and doing well they have eyes open and walking around thanks for asking ill get some pics up soon

taking pups to vet on the 6th of may they will have first shots and wormed and get a clean bill of health i will be selling 6 pups keeping 2 females one for my self and one for a huntin buddy of mine males will be 125.00 females 150.00 if anyone is looking to build a good pack of hunting dogs i suggest they buy a couple of these dogs they also make good lap warmers,they are from good blood lines i just dont regester them they are all fat and happy and are eating dry puppy food . take care jan
