Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I just rehandled a multi-blade pocket knife and would like to add some brass wire inlays to the wood scales.  I want to use brass wire to match the brass pins.  I've tried a few practice cuts in some pine, but it appears that the wood is so soft that the cutting tool just tears through it when I'm cutting across the grain, instead of making a clean-cut channel for the wire.  Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on wire inlays?  (I found a printed one, but it doesn't address this problem.)  Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Terry, check out these 2 links to Blades Magazine.

Blade Magazine also printed this article in their October or November '09 issues. I'm not sure if the content was the same, but I will check it up.
Stefan, thanks for the information. I went to the Blade Magazine website and read the articles. They are very instructive and I learned a lot from them. Thanks again.
